As another year winds down at our Lodge, I would like to thank the members that stepped up this past year for all their hard work raising money for our Lodge, Youth Camp, Local Community and of coarse our veterans. We had an awesome group that ran the Million Dollar Shootout. We also gave a cash donation through a grant to Channel One that accounted for 8000 meals locally. Our warm weather clothing drive brought in 4 truckloads of new and gently used clothes and winter jackets, and most recently, a monetary donation to the Salvation Army. Our Lodge used one of our grants earmarked for the Gold Star dinner, but because of Covid, the event was cancelled. Robert Brown got the money redirected from Grand Lodge and Cheryl Watson knew Mayo was matching funds, so along with gambling, our Lodge gave $2500 with a Mayo match the donation came to $5000, Great job team!
Congratulations to Kayla Blunt on her election to the Loyal Knight position within our Lodge! Kayla was most recently Elk of the Month, and is actively involved in numerous activities within our Lodge. I look forward to working with Kayla and to everything she has to offer in the near future!
I would like to thank our Scholarship Committee, Cheryl Watson and Steve and Linda Hanson for their hard work grading all the applicants for the Elks Scholarships. This year we had 16 applicants total, with four moving onto regional voting.
The Mankato Lodge is holding a fundraiser for their Lodge, and I have agreed to help them out. Raffle tickets are $20, and first prize is a 4-wheeler! I have the specifics and raffle tickets if you are interested. Drawing is January 30. Let’s help out a sister Lodge if possible. Please call the Lodge and we will get a raffle ticket to you! 507-282-6702 Leave a message.
Lastly, we’re looking for members interested in filling Officer positions within our Lodge. If interested please let Judy Wasser or me know. It’s a great experience and an opportunity to learn more about Elkdom and everything we do in the community!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

About
The Rochester Lodge was chartered in 1908 and are now celebrating 108 years of Elkdom. The Lodge members met at the Masonic Lodge until 1911, when they built their own building in downtown Rochester next the Martin Hotel. In 1964 we moved to a new building in SE Rochester on 2 acres of land. In 2006 the property was sold and the Lodge is now leasing the present facility at the Hillcrest Shopping Center on North Hwy 52, just off of 19th street.
